A CALL TO ACTION !!

I haven’t posted in awhile so I need to get something up on the site. I’m still looking for my first comment from someone out there in cyber world. Hopefully that will happen soon. Please read my previous posts and add some life to this blog.

My hope is that my readers will ‘guide’ the direction of my blog. In other words, I want this to be a very interactive blog site. Your feedback on my posts, Custer, Crazy Horse, etc. is necessary.

Again, any images that you wish to share on or related to this topic will be posted as well.

Now ride to the sound of the guns and send in your comment!

What if...a favorite question

O.K., my first entry. Millions and millions have been waiting on this with bated breath. Feel free to respond and hopefully your message will swim through the cyber muck without being eaten by all of the viruses and worms that exist.

I read a book titled “The Court-Martial of George Armstrong Custer” by Douglas C. Jones (it was made into a movie as well). An interesting concept…What if Custer was found alive after Little Big Horn and was the only survivor of his battalion? I won’t tell you the outcome and ruin the book (or movie), but would rather you weigh-in on your thoughts and opinions how things might have been if Custer had survived. What might have changed? What chain of events might have occurred? Would he have been court-martialed? If so, guilty or innocent? Could he have had a chance at the White House? What would have become of his military career?

Please send your thoughts, dreams, opinions, etc. on this “What If” scenario. There’s no wrong or right answer on this (the main reason why I picked this one to start this blog with).

Introduction

First, thanks for stumbling across my blog. I’ve created this blog so that Custer-philes and Custer-phobes alike can debate, share information, share experiences, and discuss one of the most controversial figures in American History.

Regardless from which direction of the trail you follow, I hope friendships develop. However, due to the controversial nature of this subject matter, the unfortunate political correctness in today’s society, and to the necessary evil of dealing with thin-skinned individuals I expect some of the discussions will offend, become heated, and, yes, some hatefulness will arise. I ask that profanity not be used and do your best to sometimes just agree to disagree.

If you have visited any place that Custer had tread (Ohio, Michigan, Civil War, Plains, etc), feel free to send along your pictures and I will attempt to post them.

Yours in History,

J. Edward
